The 2007 Chevy Classic
International Convention in Hagerstown Maryland is over.
The Jersey Late Greats made this a wait and see year. I do have to say Bow Tie
/ Late Great Chevy members for 26 years was spoiled by our friends Danny Howell,
Robert Snowden and Denny Williams. These three men did a great job making us
feel like family.
This convention had its pros and cons. The Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club
overall did an outstanding job. 353 cars, owners and families took Hagerstown
Maryland by surprise. Ecklers Chevy Classics did the best that they could do.
Most members feel there is room for improvement.
I feel improvements will be made in the future.
Lets run though the five days of the convention.
Day One Wednesday July 4 2007
All day car wash area!
9:00am to 5:00pm Show Registration, model car registration, swap area /vendors
Tech Check/Classification.
12:30pm 5:00pm Cruise to Harper’s Ferry
7:00pm 8:00pm Antietam & Gettysburg familiarization seminar presented by
Bob Clark Daily
9:30pm Fireworks viewing in parking lot.
Day Two Thursday, July 5 2007
All day car wash area!
9:00am to 5:00pm Show Registration, model car registration, swap area /vendors
Tech Check/Classification.
9:00am – 4:00pm Bus Trip to Gettysburg
10:00am 11:30am Paint and bodywork Seminar with Jay Givens
1:00pm 2:00pm Ask The Experts with Randy Irwin & Dave Fletcher
2:30pm – 5:pm Cruise to Antietam National Battlefield
6pm – 8pm Welcome Party at Marty Snook Park with Big Fat Daddy’s
BBQ.
Visit Family Fun Park afterwards
Day Three Friday, July 6, 2007
All day car wash area!
7:30am – 9:00am CCI/WCA State Rep Breakfast.
9am to 5pm Show Registration, model car registration, swap area /vendors Tech
Check/Classification
9:00am – 11:30pm Cruise to Antietam National Battlefield
9:30am 11:00am Anti-Sway Bar Installation Seminars – Randy Irwin, CCI/WCA
10:00am - noon Kids activities and movies
11:00am Start of Scavenger Hunt around the hotel.
3:00pm – 5:00pm MANDATORY Judges & Display meeting for ALL Show &
Shine entrants & judges.
5:30pm – 11:00pm Bus Trip to Charlestown Races & Slots (you can enjoy
their Epic Buffet)
7:30 – 8:30pm Bingo.
Day Four Saturday, July 7, 2007
8:00am – 3:00pm 1,000 Point Show & Shine Display and 1,000 Point Judging,
Cruisers Class Display
9:00am – 3:00pm Women’s Oasis.
9:00am – 5:00pm Swap Area/Vendors.
10:00am - noon Junior Judging Seminar & Judging (ages 6 to 16) with Bob
Snowden & Carole Mottaz.
11:00am pick up Model Cars.
1:00pm - 3:00pm Kids activities and movies!
1:00pm Turn in your Scavenger Hunt entries!
4:00pm - 7:00pm Cruise to Ryan’s Family Steakhouse (buffet)
8pm Midnight Dance with Big Cam & the Lifters.
Day five Sunday, July 8, 2007
6:30am Interdenominational Worship Service
7:00am – 8:30am Breakfast Buffet
8:30 - noon CCI/WCA Awards Ceremony & Farewell
2008 convention will be in Hartford Connecticut hope to see all our friends
new and old.
