History

This is a one-owner car. Nunzio ordered his Impala in September of 1962. Took delivery in December 1962. Nunzio was the proud owner of a 1960 Impala and ordered his 63 exactly like his 60. He drove this 63 up until 1974, clocking over 109,000 miles. The Impala was stolen a couple of times in those years but recovered with only miner damage and some missing parts.

Mr. James Krous took on this 100%, number matched, all NOS parts restoration. For over 9 years Jim and Nunzio searched the U.S. for just the right NOS parts to restore this beautiful 1963 SS Impala Convertible back to it's 100% show room condition. It is known that less then 400 6 cylinder SS Impala's was built in 1963.

Finding a broken ring and a hole in the piston, in order to keep the numbered match block, the six cylinders was bored 40 k. This is miner, one will go much farther then this to build a 100% numbered matched car.

At the Late Great Chevys Tinley Park Illinois 2001 Convention, Mr. Luce's Impala came home with the People Choice 1963, 1st place gold 995 point, Best Original Engine and the Clare M. MacKichan Award, Late Great highest honored award.

( Picture ) At the Hershey PA 2001 Auto Show Nunzio's 63 scored 400 out of 400 points.

Hours of labor have been spent to make this one of the best examples of a Late Great Chevrolet you will find today.
