PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We had an outstanding July Picnic Meeting at the Dennery’s. With beautiful weather, really tasty food and deserts, and great friends, everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you John & Dawn for opening up your home (and garage) for the club.

As you have been reading in your newsletter, the club has been evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of publishing an Electronic Newsletter. For the past several months the Newsletter has been both mailed and emailed to give Members a chance to determine whether they preferred the electronic newsletter or the paper newsletter received in the mail.

It was decided at the July meeting that the newsletter would be emailed electronically to ALL Members capable of receiving email. The printed newsletter would be mailed ONLY to Members requesting to receive their printed newsletter in the mail.

So this is Very Important !!!

If you have not done so already, you need to contact John Lucas, Tom Merring or Mike Berry and let us know that you want a printed Newsletter. If we have not heard from you, your newsletter will be sent to you via email. Phone numbers are listed in this Newsletter

Our August meeting is being held poolside at the Days Inn in Allentown PA, located at the intersection of route 309 and 22. The meeting is being combined with our Drive In Movie Cruise Saturday August 18th. The plan is to meet at the Days Inn Saturday afternoon and conduct a brief meeting at about 2:00 PM at the pool. After enjoying the afternoon at the pool, the group will assemble for dinner, and then head up route 309 to Shankwieller’s Drive In Movie Theatre. Dawn Dennery is coordinating snacks for the meeting. So mark your calendar, clean your Late Great, get your Date lined up, and come out to this year’s Drive In Movie Cruise.

Also at the July meeting we discussed the status of the 2007 Road Rally. Much of the groundwork has been completed. The flyers look fantastic and are ready for distribution Several ideas on how to promote the Rally were discussed. It was decided to offer a group rate, make two large posters to be displayed in Advanced Auto Parts, and try and get at least 15 pre-registered Road Rally contestants. Lou DiPietro and Diane Wagner have the flyers. If you know you are going to a car show or cruise night, please contact Lou & Diane to get some flyers so you can distribute them at the event. You can also print a copy of the Road Rally flyer from the Jersey Late Greats Web-Site and make your own copies for distribution. Be sure to mark September 23, 2007 for the Road Rally on your calendars.
