I hope you all enjoyed the Holidays this year. It has been a very busy Holiday season for us this year. Jan’s work at LCTI has increased tremendously this year and as a result, it has become difficult to keep up with all the extra things needing to be done in preparation for the Holidays. I’ve talked with a number of friends in the club and apparently we are not alone. Everyone is busy, I guess it’s the American Way.
The results of the election for the 2007 club officers held at the December meeting are as follows:
Jersey Late Greats Officers 2007
President: John Lucas
Vice Pres: Tom Merring
Secretary: Maureen Humphreys
Treasurer: Verne Frantz
Sgt. Arms: Al Bernotas
It looks like we have a great team for 2007. After the January meeting at Bordentown I would like to have a short get together with the 2006 and 2007 club officers to discuss what must be transferred to our new officers to enable them to perform their duties. So if you were an officer last year or a newly elected officer this year, please allow for a little extra time after the January meeting.
Okay, how many members can remember a time that you ran out
of gas while driving their Late Great Chevy? Was your fuel gage working
properly? Was it working at all? My own experience with my 58 Impala is
that some times the gage works and some times it doesn’t. The gage will
indicate that the tank is full, when actually it is not full at all! Sometimes
it will just hang at the ¼ mark, and some times it works perfectly.
The problem is that I never know which of those three scenarios the gage
is in at any given time. So you can understand the dilemma. If you’ve had
a similar problem with your fuel gage in the past, or maybe you still have
a gas gage problem ……
Well, here is your chance !!!!
Please join us at the January meeting for the “Do You Have Gas?” Tech Session. We will cover the components, how the system works, diagnosing, and repairing the fuel metering system in your Late Great Chevy. So fill your tank, and take a ride down to the Bordentown Community Center for the January Tech Session.
Please note the Annual Banquet is being held Saturday February 10th, 2007 at Wildflowers Too Restaurant in Trenton. Please take the time to fill out the Banquet Form on the next page and give it or send it to Al Bernotas with your payment. There will not be a formal meeting this February, however the officers will meet for a short time at the Banquet to go over business.
I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday and a safe and enjoyable
New Years. I look forward to seeing you at the January meeting.
Enjoy the Ride,
JwLucas
