PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I’ll start with the good news and end with even better news. We voted on
two questions at the April’s meeting. The first vote was on holding our official
business meetings at the Bordentown Community Center as we have for the last
couple of years from October to April. May through September we will be holding
our scheduled barbecues and /or events as usual, however in between time if
something important comes up I will call a brief meeting to bring you up to
date.
The next item voted on was to reduce our yearly dues. As expected the outcome
was unanimous! Our dues are now $25.00 per year effective April 1st 2008. I
would like to thank the members who came out to this meeting and for being part
of this election.
Its unfortunate we had to conceal the road rally for our members. We decided
the timing was not good due to the NJACE car show and swap meet in North Jersey.
So we will decide on another date and time in the near future. The attendance
of our members was good at the NJACE Car Show. I was happy to hear how many
did drive up there to represent the Jersey Late Greats. Thank you for your support.
Steve was also grateful.
I’m looking forward to this months meet. The Multi-Club Picnic is always a good
event but this year will be a little more exciting. Due to popular demand the
Frantz Car Games are back. You don’t want to miss this one, so bring out the
family for a fun packed day and great burgers. Please don’t forget to call me
if you haven’t signed up yet for the day. We need a head count and your favorite
side dish you would like to bring.
With the new change this year the summer meets looks even more inviting. In
June for instance, Leigh and I will just not be serving you my southern fried
chicken or his banging cheeseburgers, we have a seminar planned for you. Something
a little different from the usual so you won’t get bored! This is a chance also
to see the start of Leigh’s dream garage. He is now working on getting electric
to the area, digging a long trench and running wires etc. It hasn’t been fun
yet!
Vice President Jim Brussel and I have devised a plan that we found might have
worked. In the past its been known that our meetings can sometimes drag on,
making members feel a little overwhelmed. We were able to keep the meeting to
and hour and twelve minutes. So hopefully we can remember this when meeting
times start back up this fall.
I’m looking forward to the changes this year and I am hopeful for more members.
I am proud to be president with such an outstanding board, and of our club,
twenty-six years strong and how we can pull together when support is needed.
Let’s keep the wheels moving!
