I don’t want to see summer come to an end already and
yet fall is upon us. I guess we can look ahead now for other exciting things
to happen in our Chevy Club. We have one more adventure out before we get
back down to business in our monthly meetings at the center. From what I
hear, there may be some changes to think about. So you might want to come
out to the meetings and see what’s happening in the year to come!
As you read this message we would have already done the second fund-raiser
for the club thanks to Al Bernotas. We were invited back to Burlington Chevrolet
to display our cars for their sales promo. Al did a great job at the grill
while we were there. He grilled up hot dogs and hamburgers for all. (Even
their employees and perspective car buyers) Thank you Al.
Meetings will resume again in October at the Community Center in Bordentown
as scheduled. The October meeting is important due to this is the first
round of election nominations. The date of the meeting has been scheduled
for October 19th at the Center at five o’clock. This is the week after the
Covered Bridge Tour in PA. So please put this date on your calendar, we
would like to see all of you attend this meeting.
I would like to thank Jim and Claudia for having us at their home in July
for a back yard
Barbecue. The guys ended the day with a good old fashion game of horseshoes.
The Thackeray’s are hosting the October Covered Bridge Tour in Bucks County,
PA. I’m looking forward to this one; it sounds like it’s beautiful this
time of the year. We will be arriving first at the Mercer Museum, from there
a guided tour of Fonthill, Moravian Tile Works, which is a self guided tour
then onto three Covered Bridges to an Airport and then one more Covered
Bridge upon return. We will also be dinning out, but that’s to be announced
later. So please plan to come out and join us but word of warning... Wear
comfortable shoes! It might not hurt to bring your cooler and snacks for
the car ride!
