President’s Message

Summer's Passing Us By

Well here we are into August and I hope by now you are doing all you can to enjoy your classic car by hitting all those car shows and now the Car's N' Caffeine Cruise In by American Collectors Insurance.

On July 16th, John and Dawn Dennery held their annual picnic/BBQ for club members and friends. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, salads, baked beans, deviled eggs, fresh homemade zucchini bread and desserts and a variety of beverages. A big thank you to Jason Dennery, son of John and Dawn, for making the delicious sangria everyone enjoyed. Club member, Steve Calandra, our personal DJ, played some great old classic songs for all to enjoy. He started our meeting out with a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem followed by Lee Greenwood's, I'm proud to be an American. Thank you to all who made those delicious sides and desserts and a huge thank you to John and Dawn for their hospitality and dedication to the Jersey Late Greats. Another personal thanks to Jason Dennery for donating back the 50/50 to the club treasury.

We held a very brief meeting and held a vote whether or not to take a summer break for August. We will meet in September on the 11th at 5 p.m. at the Bordentown Community Center.

I was happy to see John Lucas after his major surgery. He is looking good and building back his strength. It was nice to have Janet Frantz join us for the day. She is doing well. I would like to thank Al Bernotas for giving her a ride to the picnic.

I am looking forward to organize fall and winter events. If there is something of interest in your area that is car related or otherwise, let me know so we can organize the event together. If there is not an event planned, we will have our fall and winter meetings in Bordentown.
