This will be my last message as President. I’m happy to have served the club these last 2 years and look forward to more exciting car events with our new President, Leigh Humphreys. Most of you know that this isn’t Leigh’s first rodeo, he has served as President in years past. Along with Leigh, Maureen Humphreys will be the Secretary and she comes with many years of experience as well. Maureen has held the job of President in past as well. The entire Board comes with a great deal of experience; Verne Frantz has been Treasurer for a long time and Big Al Bernotas has been Sergeant at Arms since time began.
My focus has been to get the membership out with their old Chevys and go places. I think we had a good time with all those who participated. I was glad to see Alan Bitterman has been coming out with his ’60 convertible for a number of events. Over the years we have seen members being active and then going away and members who we hadn’t seen showing up and having a good time. As our lives change so does the club. Health, employment, retirement, family and friendships have a way of shifting the active members participation.
Our next event will be the annual Christmas Party and Meeting on Sunday December 8 at 5 PM. We will be back at the Bordentown Senior Citizen Community Center. This will be a covered dish supper so contact Maureen Humphreys at 856.217.6355 to see what you can bring to share. In the November newsletter I had mistakenly said to contact Lydia Schmidt to see what you can bring. Lydia will be handling the gift game but Maureen will be responsible for the food. Please call her so we know how many to expect. There will be a gift exchange as well with the suggested value of $10.00. The election for the 2020 Board will take place at the meeting. Being as there are no contested positions, our Election Chairman, Jim Thackeray will cast the symbolic vote. Let’s welcome the new Board.
