I am looking forward to being your President this coming year and making plans for some new and exciting events with our members. I’ve been a member of the Jersey Late Greats since 1995. I 'm a past president from 2000 to 2004 and past Vice President a couple of times as well. I am the web master of Jersey Late Greats.com, and manage and maintain our Facebook page. I am married to Maureen C. Humphreys (48 years this year) who has held the position of President in 2008 and many years as our secretary. Maureen will be back as secretary for 2020.
I would like to welcome back Tom Merring as my Vice President . Tom is no stranger to this club. He is one of our Charter members that formed this club in 1982. Tom has held many board positions over the years.
I would like to welcome back Verne Frantz as our Treasurer. Verne is also one of our Charter members and founder of Jersey Late Greats. He has held many positions over the years and has been on the board since its conception in 1982.
Al Bernotas, once again, will be our Sergeant - At - Arms. We wouldn't have it any other way! He is there every month and is highly respected by all. Al takes care of refreshments and our 50/50's and keeps us all in order!
It's going to take me a couple months to get up and running with your help. There are good ideas in your neck of the woods and I'm always looking for them, so please email or text me with some of yours.
The next meeting, January 12th, will be held at the Bordentown Community Center in Bordentown N.J. at 5:00pm.
February is our Jersey Late Greats Chevrolet Annual Banquet. John and Dawn Dennery are the hosts of this event. More information is in this newsletter so please read and make plans today to attend and give Dawn a call. The club will pick up $10.00 off the cost of the each Banquet ticket. This is one of our clubs favorite events for lots of laughs, prizes, good food and a great afternoon full of fun.
Maureen and I will be planning the Club Picnic again in May at the Washington Township Park. This is a great location and another fun event of food and fellowship. Chef Al's burgers are the best when he grills over his wood and coal mixture.
If you did not make it to our last Meeting /Christmas Dinner, you missed a great time. Maureen organized the event. Maureen and the girls of the club did an outstanding job setting up. Thanks to all for their covered dish. Lydia Schmit's "Left-Right Game was a big hit!
